American Apparel has just launched a brand of Made in the USA nail polish, with 18 colors including “Office” (matched to the color of an American Apparel accounting notepad) and red “Downtown LA”, inspired by the area where the factory is located.
The essentials: All polishes are formaldehyde, DBP and toluene-free. Each bottle costs $6 and can be bought in packs of 3 for $15. Visit American Apparel stores or americanapparel.com to purchase.
I trip over myself so frequently in my adoration for NARS Orgasm that you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s the only product from NARS I like–so not the case! Across the board, their colors, textures and palettes are so luxurious and fashion-forward that I often feel like a kid in a very glamorous candy shop.
When I saw this nail polish, it made my heart flutter. (I know I did a nail polish post just a couple of days ago, but believe me, I rarely wear nail polish, so anything that makes me sit up and take note is truly special!)
The color is called Tokaido Express ($16), and it’s named after Japan’s busiest high-speed rail route–very fitting, because it’s a take-no-prisoners amethyst-and-gold-dust shade that makes me feel like, with it on, I’d be powerful, exotic, going places.
